Now here is a “rough” article. It seems that cannabis-sniffing K-9s are being sent to the dog house because….they are no longer relevant!! Yep, “pot pups” are going to pasture with the cows because, well, cannabis is increasingly legal in these United States.
As it takes up to $15K to train a cannabis canine – not an insignificant expenditure- police departments nationwide are redeploying funds for other mammalian tasks like truffle-hunting pigs or catnip-seeking cats. Spot will no longer be spotting weed and Rover will not be roaming for blunts.
So fear not my friends, that rescue dog will no longer be sniffing your stash. A “dog collar” has reverted to its original meaning. Dogs, once again, will become human’s best friend.
